The 31st yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, wife of the Rebbe, was marked on Sunday night with a farbrengen at the Ohel.
Rabbi Shea Hecht, veteran Shliach to Orange, Connecticut, share his personal experience of when the Rebbetzin visited the newly built school in New Haven, as well as the Rebbe’s feedback to his father Rabbi Moshe Yitzchok Hecht. This is one of the only times we know of the Rebbetzin visiting a Chabad House.
The farbrengen was also addressed by Rabbi Moshe Herson – NJ, Rabbi Meir Harlig – Brooklyn, NY, and emceed by Rabbi Yossi Deren – Greenwich, CT.
The farbrengen was arranged by Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus and was broadcast live on COLlive.com shortly following the Kinus Hashluchos banquet.

Rabbi Hecht relates the request of the Rebbe to his father R’ Moshe Yitzchok A”H in the year 1948 to name his newborn daughter after the Rebbe’s grandmother. Ans so he did and the Rebbe thanked him afterwards (published in the igros).
Interesting to note: R’ Moshe Hecht’s brothers thereafter who had daughters named their daughter Rochel (not especially common in Lubavitch).
