United Hatzalah Dispatch and Command Center in Israel received an emergency call regarding a person who was feeling ill while driving on Highway 4 near the Shtulim Interchange.
The dispatching system located volunteer Shaul Hyman via its GPS tracking system as the closest first responder to the incident. Shaul was on the way to his own wedding.
Hyman received the emergency alert and, putting all of his wedding preparations aside, rushed to the location where he found a man slumped over in his car on the side of the roadway.
He treated the patient and waited with him until the ambulance showed up sometime later.
Hyman assisted the ambulance crew in loading the patient onto the ambulance and then rushed back to finish his wedding preparations before he walks down the aisle tonight in Ashdod.
