The annual ‘Neiros L’hoir’ performances by Cheder ‘Ohr Menachem’ Kinder is a real special highlight which all look forward to. That special opportunity for every talmid to shine on stage, displaying their beautiful talents.
This Chanukah, on Tuesday, the 6th night of Chanukah, the Razag ballroom was bustling with fathers and sons celebrating together.
Arriving at the hall, parents were greeted by Rabbi Yossi Overlander, who gave parents the opportunity to vote and rate the spectacular Menorah Contest.
The event is ready to begin… the host of the evening Rabbi Zalman Goldstein of Cheder’s Hanhala greeted all with a grand welcome for the stars of the evening, Talmidim of Kitos Daled, Hey, Vov and Zayen.
The Farbrengen began with Kita Zayen Talmidim singing the unique and heartwarming ‘Der Fiddle’ Niggun, learnt from their Melamed Rabbi Yisroel Greenberg.
They were followed with kita Gimmel leading the 12 pesukim and maamorei razal which the Rebbe encourages every Tzivos Hashem chayol to repeat remember, and continuously stand out in his mind.
Kita Gimmel came up with their melamed Rabbi Tanchum Abrams who together enthusiastically led the crowd in the 12 pesukim.
The assembled then had the distinct zechus to receive the blessings of Birkas Kohanim from Rabbi Zalman Hendel – leader of Mosdos Ohr Menachem Tzfas, and proud grandparent. After which his son, the Menahel Kloli Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel warmly thanked all the staff for their incredible work developing such excellent young Chassidim.
The Menahel Rabbi Menachem Mendel D. Yusewitz addressed the boys, ‘as we won’t be learning together throughout the Bein Hazmanim, lets fill in the daily quote of Tehillim for Eretz Hakodesh’.
Following the recital of a few kapitlach comes the call of the hour, persumei nisa – hadlokas menorah by the Menahel. The Niggun Haneiros Halalu reverberating through the hall.
Kita Zayen Mechanech and director of ‘Mishnayos Baal Peh’ program Rabbi Chanoch Hecht shared the amazing achievements לזכות ארצנו הקדושה. (Seforim for TBP and MBP achievements and a grand raffle were left to conclude the special evening)
Next was Kita Daled, celebrating 4 years of work on their Tanya Baal Peh, they came up with their Melamed Rabbi Dovber Bryski to display fluency in 8 perokim Tanya! This is part of the larger initiative of TBP to have every talmid graduating Kita Zayen know the first 12 Prokim Tanya Baal Peh.
Following them the Talmidim of Kita Vov, displayed built keilim of the Mishkan they built with their melamed Rabbi Yisroel Botnik, based on Parshiyos תרומה, תצוה, כ”ת, ויק”פ.
Using the Aron of Kita Vov, Kita Hey Talmidim produced a the story of the Eli Hakohen in Shiloi when the Aron Habris was captured to the Plishtim that they learnt with Rabbi Yisroel Noach Blank.
Rabbi Yusewitz heartfully thanked all who made this event such a success, namely Rabbi Avrohom Rainitz, R’ Shlomi Frishman and Rabbi Hecht. Acharon Choviv the dedicated Hanhala working tirelessly behind the scenes Rabbi Yossi Overlander.
As one talmid was thanking a hanhala member on the way out holding his Tatty’s hand, he said: “Chanukah celebration is only complete with the ‘nachas ovent’!”
He then called up Rabbi Avrohom Bluming of Igud Hamelamdim who launched the “Gemora Bifnim 5784” and explained the greatness of focusing on Gemora Bifnim. He proceeded to distribute seforim for those who excelled in last years mivtza with Rabbi Levi Belinov.
The sweet ending: in addition to every Talmid getting treats and Chanukah gelt, as Talmidim of Kitos Vov and Zayen were heading out with their tanks to mivtzoim with Rabbi Levi Shuchat, they got trays of doughnuts to boost their tanks and mivtzoim.
