Educational Institute Oholei Torah in Crown Heights wants to get the vote out — but not necessarily for the presidential elections.
Oholei Torah is asking the public for their opinion on which alumni from the past 6 decades should be honored at the school’s annual gala event.
The nominee could be a shliach, rav, mechanech, businessman or friend, one shows true chassidishe inspiration and has a positive effect to those around him, the school said.
“Vote for someone who they feel is an outstanding alumnus who personifies the ideals and aspirations of the Mossad Chinuch Oholei Torah,” the school said in a statement.
Those alumni chosen, will be contacted by the Dinner office, explaining the merit and responsibility that involves in being part of this chosen group.
Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Development, is coordinating this event and sees this as an opportunity to show the vastness and impact Oholei Torah alumni have made to the community at large, and the ideals that the mossad was founded on.
It is open to all Anash, one may vote for any alumni, regardless of the duration spent learning in Oholei Torah.
The list will be announced in the coming months. The 60th Gala Dinner is set for Sunday, 3rd of Sivan 5777, May 28, 2017.
