This Friday, Rosh Chodesh Sivan, Oholei Torah held the inaugural dedication for the Popack Kindergarten Building in East Flatbush, NY.
In a small yet classic and posh affair, friends and family of Yoseph Yitzchok and Batsheva Popack gathered as the building was dedicated in memory of Reb Shmuel Isaac Popack a”h, who passed away just a year ago, on Erev Shavuos.
Greeting was crowd was Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director of Oholei Torah and HaRav Avrohom Osdoba, Mora D’asra of Crown Heights. As a token of appreciation, a Tzedoka Pushka in a model of 770 was given to Mr. Popack, as he is one who gives great chessed, tzedoka and is concerned with all aspects of our community and is committed to the Rebbe’s Mosdos. Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Development, announce that the kindergarten dedication is the beginning phase of an era of expansion, a new campaign that will be shortly shared with the greater community.
Of the many guests who came to share this dedication, Rebbetzin Esther Teitelbaum, wife of the founder of Oholei Torah Reb Michoel a”h. stood out. She expressed her happiness and satisfaction knowing her husband’s great legacy, both of Oholei Torah and also more specifically with the East Flatbush shul is ensured for a bright future, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Popack and his wife, together with many others.
After the traditional Ribbon Cutting ceremony, guests enjoyed a scrumptious brunch in the school auditorium together with a special shavuous concert performed by the young talmidim. Following the brunch, the building was available for tours where the guests saw the quality and thought that went into the renovations, making the building truly one of its kind.
Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director, said “Its truly a gem to have such a high quality facility for our community children, and we are proud to give these young ones our very best.” He also encouraged others to take part in this era of expansion that Oholei Torah has reached, being the growth and need of space is way above what Oholei Torah can handle today.
In the near future a Gala Event is being planned for all those who made major dedications and gave assistance for the help in re-building this beautiful Kindergarten.

Wonderful. I would like to say that the best way for gevirim to give to the community would be to set up a tuition fund which limits the amount of tuition a family pays regardless of their apparent financial situation. Anyone why would wish to pay more can donate to the fund

It was in middle of a school day, and maybe Popack didn’t want a big crowd. B4 you complain think about the other side.
What a wonderful ish chessed. Yossi thank you for all your continued help. With out you we couldn’t do it. Much hatzlacha in your wonderful shlichus. Chazak Ubaruch. Your friends
Were they invited? Or even told about it? Seems not. One of them told me she saw all the action but had no idea what was going on.
Without them you wouldn’t have a first class pre-school. A little bit of appreciation would be nice.
you bring Rav Ozdoba to speak, but you serve food from bunch-of-bagels under the OK hashgacha!!!
