In Honor of Shnas Hakhel, on the morning of Chamisha Asar Shvat, Oholei Torah Cheder held a Grand Hakhel event uniting all Talmidim from Pre 1A to 7th grade in the main ballroom.
The event with over 1,000 Talmidim Ka”h included Niggunim, Divrei Torah, Tehillim and Tzedakah and much more.
The Talmidim heard from Rabbi Mendel Blau, the Menahel of Oholei Torah, about the Rebbe’s response to a group of children that sent in their drawings of children with trees. The children learned what the Rebbe communicated to these young children the message of Chamisha Asar B’shvat and the lessons trees can teach us about the process of a child’s healthy growth.
The children also watched a moving tribute in memory of Rabbi Yossel Rosenfeld obm, Oholei Torah’s director for over 50 years, and heard first hand about his passion for uncompromised Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh.
R’ Yossi Cohen and the Kapeliah choir led the crowd of students and Rabbeim with stirring music.
The children were also treated to a special show by Nussi and a special memento packet with special fruits in accordance with the Rebbe’s Horaos. Special sets of seforim and prizes were raffled off recognizing the children’s great behavior and participation throughout the event.
Rabbi Mendel Levin, Oholei Torah’s devoted director of Tzivos Hashem and all extracurricular activities summarized the event with the important Hachlotos of Hakhel and the launch of a revamped Mishnayos Baal Peh Mivtzah dedicated this year in memory of Rabbi Rosenfeld OB”M.
Special thanks to Rabbi Yisroel Cohen for coordinating every detail, Rabbi Mendel Levin for a great in-house A/V production, seat mapping and planning, Tzvi Eber for producing the tribute video, Rabbi Lustig and Rabbi Evers for their invaluable input and guidance to make the Hakhel event one that was meaningful and memorable on every level.
A very special thank you to R’ Yossi Langsam and the Board of Directors for providing their unwavering support and commitment to the Moissed and its Talmidim in a manner of לכתחילה אריבער and true ברייטקייט.
The energy of Oholei Torah is a model for every yeshiva authentic and innovative
