The staff of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, the organization overseeing arrangements at the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s gravesite in Queens, are preparing to host a large crowd for Gimmel Tammuz this year.
Each year, people from around the country and world come to the Rebbe’s Ohel at the Old Montefiore Cemetery to mark the anniversary of his passing on the third day of Tammuz.
Rabbi Abba Refson, director of activities at the Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch, says he has been working with his staff to ensure a smooth and organized experience for all visitors.
For those who plan to spend Shabbos of Gimmel Tammuz – July 9 near the Ohel, a large air-conditioned tent will be erected for sleeping a 5-minute walk from the Ohel, Refson said. Beds will be ordered only according to demand, due to the expense.
Each individual attending must be submitted as a separate application. Yeshiva bochurim will be grouped as part of the Yeshivah they attend. Married men (Yungerlite) must register as well, and can request group placement.
Registration for all ages can be done at https://goo.gl/ok6J6F.
Those planning to come with a Mobile Home, will need to reserve a parking space at https://goo.gl/ok6J6F. The NYPD will not permit Mobile Homes to park on nearby streets, he said.
An RV is your best bet.
Are there any apartments to rent or houses to stay at, for family? Near Ohel?
