In a Zoom meeting with Brooklyn Community leaders, newly appointed NYPD Chief of Patrol, Kenneth Corey, announced the precincts that will be included in Mayor Eric Adams’ and Police Commissioner Sewell’s plan to address gun violence that has been plaguing several neighborhoods in the City.
Both Crown Heights precincts, the 71st and 77th precincts will be included in the rollout, Chief Corey said.
The Chief explained that the teams will be selected from police officers who already serve in those precincts and who will undergo special training to focus on those who threaten the community with violence.
In the question and answer portion of the meeting, Executive Director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, Rabbi Eli Cohen, pressed NYS Assembly Members who were on the call about measures that they needed to take to support the police efforts and to make sure that dangerous criminals can be kept off the streets.

The guns used in these gun crimes are almost always stolen or otherwise illegally obtained. That is a FACT.
The people committing these gun crimes are almost always prior convicted felons who are not allowed to possess a gun whether they borrowed it, purchased it, or stole it.
The percentage of prosecutions of those who attempt to illegally purchase a weapon is abysmal–the Government looks the other way

Look at what is happening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A guy was out on low bail, the DA chose to not charge him with 4 other crimes, including gun charges.
He shot a police officer and stole the squad car.
How about CRIMINAL control?
