A positive, working relationship with the NYC Board of Education has been created over the past year, with the Rebbe’s initiative of the Moment of Silence.
Working together with Rabbi Avraham Frank, two new schools have entered the program. A NYC school superintendent herself was involved in creating registration protocol to establish the Moment of Silence being seen as a positive pilot program to help NYC school students.
PS 13K and MS419, both in Queens, have practiced the Moment of Silence, and are very happy with its results.
Ms. Gillian Smith, executive director of Health and Safety for the Board of Education, has also been working with Rabbi Frank, and is been enthusiastic about the positive results that the Moment of Silence has produced.
Ms. Smith is in the process of trying to find ways to help to expand the Moment of Silence, and introduce it to additional schools.

This seems like a big breakthrough! Those at the top of the NYC Board of Education are starting to recognized the need for a Moment of Silence to help kids become decent people. Mazel Tov Rabbi and Mrs. Frank! Tremendous and concerted efforts for years!
May this be the beginning of all public schools implementing this crucial initiative.
