Despite rainy weather, hundreds came out to witness New Jersey’s largest Menorah being lit in Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Monroe Township, Sunday.
Local dignitaries attended, shared greetings, and presented a special proclamation. Senator Linda Greenstein delivered remarks.
The Monroe High school marching band played a beautiful selection of Chanukah and patriotic melodies.
A Chanukah essay was read by young Shliach Mendel Zaklikovsky.
The Menorah was lit by Planning Board chairman David Rothman, Mr. Jacob Roitman and Monroe Shliach Rabbi Eliezer Zaklikovsky.
Donuts and hot drinks were enjoyed by all.
