It was a quiet and solemn moment. Each child stood in front of the machine, pressed a button and became a part of something big – the Cheder Tanya.
This year is the ‘Year of the Book’ for Cheder Menachem in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Besides the school theme, which concentrates on HaYom Yom, the children have also printed a Tanya LeZechus the Tzeirei HaShluchim who comprise this Cheder.
The students prepared for this auspicious occasion by studying Tanya, learning it Ba’al Peh and even doing research on Mivtzah Tanya. They were fascinated to learn how dear this Mivtza was to the Rebbe – how he even waited Erev Yom Kippur for a Tanya to be printed and delivered in his hands; how he would give $20 for each printing and more.
So when it came to the actual printing, they were eager participants. Conscious of their incredible zechus, each child took responsibility for one page – placing it in the machine, pressing the button and copying it. It was inspiring to see their excitement as the students realized that they were playing an active role in Hafotzas HaMayonos to bring Moshiach.
This project is only one of many as the Cheder continues to grow and thrive. The Cheder is a lifeline to the participating Shluchim, who, otherwise, would not have the opportunity to give their children the Chassidishe chinuch the Rebbe envisioned for his children – his Chassidim.
Despite the many challenges – long commutes, small classes and financial difficulties, it is the greatest gift for these young Shluchim as they grow up to be the next wave of Chabad transforming the world and continue the legacy of Lichsheyafutzu Ma’ayonesecha Chutzah.
To help the Cheder continue its vital work, please visit ChederNJ.com and participate in the Cheder Raffle. Every dollar helps a young shliach get the chinuch he/she needs.
