The first yartzeit of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky OBM, the Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, was commemorated with a series of events on Sunday, 27 Iyar.
Rabbi Kotlarsky’s passing last year left a profound void in the hearts of thousands worldwide, recognizing his dedication to the Rebbe’s Shlichus and helping to build and grow Chabad institutions and Jewish communities around the world.
On Sunday, community members, friends, family, Shluchim, and supporters joined for a day filled with unity, Torah, and inspiration.
A Siyum Sefer Torah took place at the Kotlarsky residence, in memory of Harav Moshe Yehuda ben Reb Tzvi Yosef OBM. Guests for around the world participated in writing a letter in the Torah scroll.
Following this, the Torah was led in a Tahaluchah to 770 Eastern Parkway, leading into joyful Hakafos.
Later, a global Siyum HaShas, an inspirational program, followed by a Chassidishe Farbrengen, was held at Lubavitch Yeshiva Ballroom, 570 Crown Street, centered on the theme of “V’hachai Yiten El Libo”—“The living shall take it to heart.”
