Rabbi Mendy and Sara Wineberg (nee Thaler) and their daughter Musya, will be moving on Shlichus to Dunwoody, Georgia, a suburb northwest of Atlanta.
The Winebergs will be establishing Chabad of Dunwoody, and will offer programs, Shabbos and Holiday events, a Hebrew School, and more to the thousands of Jewish families in the area.
Dunwoody is a very attractive suburban area, especially for families, with many parks, a nature center and more. While there is a JCC and local Shul, this will be the first Chabad Center in the area.
Sara will also be working as a program director for the Chabad school in nearby Sandy Springs, GA.
Rabbi Mendy Wineberg is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and has experience on Shlichus in Yeshiva Gedolah of Melbourne. He received Semicha at the Central Chabad Yeshiva 770. He has been directing the Manhattan Semicha program on the Upper West Side for the past two years.
Sara Wineberg is originally from Los Angeles. She attended Beis Chana Seminary in Tzfas, Israel. She has been running Bais Rivkah’s afterschool program for the middle school for the past three years.
The new Shluchim have been appointed by Rabbi Yossi New, Head Shliach in Georgia.
They are looking forward to beginning their Shlichus by offering holiday services, programs, and events for the upcoming Jewish new year.
