As the International Kinus Hashluchim came to an end this week, a young Chabad couple has announced their appointment to a new Shlichus post on campus.
Rabbi Shlomo Elkan and his wife Devorah have just moved to Oberlin College, a selective private liberal arts college in Oberlin, Ohio.
They are joined by their two children Hadassah (3) and Yanky (1).
They will be opening a Jewish Student Center at Oberlin College that will service the estimated 1000 Jewish students on campus.
The new Shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Leibel Alevsky, Head Shliach of Greater Cleveland.
We just spent a great Shabat with your parents and Jonathan and of course they updated us about your activities and about this site. They are very proud of your work in Oberlin. We wish you lots and lots of hatzlacha in all your efforts at keruv. Love, Joel and Lora
