Cheder at the Ohel is known as an excellent, small, Chassidish school just outside of town. Its student body consists of Lubavitch boys from Long Island, Queens, Crown Heights and Connecticut, many the children of Shluchim.
For the last few years Cheder has been a parent run school, coordinated by Mrs. Devorah Rosenzweig.
“Cheder has been a lovely school, a warm chassidish place for my sons to learn these past years,” enthused Rosenzweig. “Now the time has come to bring our small Cheder to the next level. We are so happy to welcome Rabbi Margolis as our full time principal,” she said.
Rabbi Pinchas Margolis is a long time educator, dedicated to inculcating students with a warmth and chayos for learning. During the years he taught at Cheder Yaldei Hashluchim Yonkers, he organized programs, bringing a fresh and innovative approach to the entire school.
Since joining the staff at Cheder at the Ohel, Rabbi Margolis has done the same. He has been acting as part time principal for the latter part of this year while continuing to teach 4th grade.
“No doubt that Rabbi Margolis’ background in psychology and his dedication to connecting to each student will aid him in bringing Cheder at the Ohel to new heights,” said Rosenzweig.
