Fans of Bison & Bourbon, the Kosher meat restaurant in Brooklyn, can expect some big changes in the popular steakhouse in the next few months.
The restaurant has recently been purchased by Crown Heights businessman Shneur Minsky, who has big plans for the upscale steakhouse and bar which opened in 2016 by three Lubavitch businessmen.
The restaurant has since become popular among customers from New York and beyond for business meetings, evenings out, and get-togethers among friends.
Set in a building used as a warehouse in the 1930’s, Bison and Bourbon has been transformed into a unique dining establishment and full bar with a European outdoor vibe and a historic look inside. Reclaimed wood from the roof of the building was lovingly restored for the bar and tables and the building boasts its original brick walls. A relaxing outdoor seating area feels like an oasis in the middle of Brooklyn.
The restaurant, under the supervision of OK Kosher, is located in Gowanus, Brooklyn and close to many Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods, making it a popular choice among Kosher consumers.
Minsky, who also owns Starlight Cafe, a kosher coffee shop and dairy restaurant in Catskills, says he plans to change both the menu and the bar offerings at Bison and Bourbon.
Partnering with Minsky is Chef Lior Hachmon, formerly of Pescada Carne Restaurant in Brooklyn, who comes with years of experience and will be creating an upscale and exciting menu.
The menu will include their famous pulled beef, burgers and steaks such as applewood smoked Delmonico, hanger steak with chimichurri sauce, filet mignon and more.
But perhaps the biggest news is the revamping of the restaurant’s already expansive bar menu, which will be headed up by Gavriel Sadeh, a partner in the famed Tel Aviv Whiskey Bar & Museum, renowned for its selection of unique whiskeys and spirits.
Sadeh will be creating an exclusive new drink menu for the restaurant which will enhance the customers’ experience with unique whiskeys and delectable wines, Minsky told COLlive.
“The new menu will include a special ’21 and over’ list, with a selection of dishes paired with the perfect wine, whiskey or mixed drink,” Minsky said.
Minsky says his goal is to create the perfect setting for business meetings and events, as well as romantic evenings out.
“The delicious food, the luxurious drinks and the impeccable service all combine to create a one-of-a-kind experience right here in the heart of Brooklyn,” Minsky says. “We look forward to welcoming you all.”
