A unique opportunity has presented itself for 9th and 10th grade girls with the launch of a brand new travelling summer camp in South Africa.
The one month program, from June 26 to July 24, will take the girls’ on exhilarating and meaningful tours through Cape Town, Kruger National Park, the South Coast, and Johannesburg.
Imagine having the chance to experience authentic shlichus work and meet inspiring Shluchim and Shluchos, while enjoying practical, relevant shiurim, chassidishe farbrengens, and hearing their incredible stories.
Couple that with breathtaking natural scenery, magnificent beaches, world renowned safari and nature reserves, exciting trips and hands on experiences with indigenous cultures. All this and more is Camp Gan Israel “Adventure Time” of South Africa.
Camp Gan Yisrael is run under the auspices of Chabad House by directors Rabbi Pini and Rochie Pink. In recent years, they have quadrupled the size of the local day camp, launched and grown local overnight camps at their very own expansive grounds, and now aim to give foreigners a taste of the warmth and beauty of stunning South Africa and its Jewish community.
“South Africa is blessed with an unbelievable network of dedicated and selfless Shluchim that spans the country,” says Rabbi Pink. “This gives young girls the chance to see them in action, and help them in this formative stage of their lives – all the while enjoying the natural beauty of one of the most magnificent countries in the world.”
Girls in the Adventure Time program will also have the chance to be counselors in the local CGI day camp, which gives them the chance to teach, inspire and have a meaningful impact on Jewish children of all backgrounds.
The head staff for the program will soon be announced. Space is limited for this pilot program, so early registration is required to ensure a spot in this once in a lifetime experience. For more information please email [email protected] or to register, visit www.chabadsouthafrica.org/cgiadventure
