Are you looking for an afterschool program for your son? If you are then this program is for you. Crown Heights resident Yoni Chanowitz has recently started a new and innovative after school program for local boys.
The boys program is called the Art Science Academy, or ASci-A for short. Asci-A is for boys who are in 1st through 6th grades. The boys learn skills like sculpting and whittling. The boys get to express their creativity and learn how to design perspective concepts in a fun and encouraging environment. Unlike other programs, each class is a stand-alone session. That means that if a boy is unable to attend all the classes or misses a week, that is ok, because each session is a class/project of its own.
The current group of students have created their own menchies and have learned the basics of wood carving. Whittling and Electronics classes will begin after Pesach.
Future sculpting classes aim to have the boys make tools out of plastics, like an oil lamp and much more. The whittling class will focus on the students developing their skills and culminating with the creation of a fully functional flute by each boy.

Do you really think our kids will benefit sitting in Yeshiva for 15 hours a day 7:30am – 10:30pm “learning” only Torah for 8 years straight 14 years old to 22??
