The main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights is filled to capacity on a regular basis, as many locals and visitors frequent it for minyanim throughout the day. It also serves as the study hall (zal) of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch with daily studies and classes.
Due to a lack of space in the main shul, Yeshiva bochurim have spilled into a part of the Ezras Noshim, the women’s section, which is only fully used on Shabbos and Yomtov, or for special programs.
But access to that area was only possible by exiting the main shul and walking around the block to the entrance on Kingston Avenue, burdening on the bochurim and isolating them from the rest of the Yeshiva.
A solution was recently created: a new doorway and passageway connect both areas. It even has a coffee and tea stand to keep them fueled in their studies.

Please hire someone to clean up and organize the piles and piles of sefarim eruv Shabbos . When women come to shul on Shabbos the whole place is in dissaray.
Please express this to the women’s committee. Its a shame as the shul is renovated but needs organization. Maybe we can all volunteer a time to find a permanent solution to all the random items laying around. Together we can make it happen !
How and why does this become the women’s problem? The Bochurim make a mess. They’re not going to clean it up. The Hanhola should hire other bochurim to clean it up. It’s simple. This does not fall upon the women who just want to daven.
Sincerely,
A man
How do they sit in the hard benches all day?
They have something to lean the back on. It wasnt a thing in the earlier years
It’s OK. Looks like the bochurim in the women’s shul have the same benches as downstairs. And we had the same thing when I was a bochur in the samach’s (00’s).
Yasher Koach! The new addition look so bright, fresh and airy ! The woman enjoy it very much on Shabbos. I am not sure if its due to construction but there are still some finishing touches that need to be added. Such as Proper Seforim Shelves and there is a lot of random items by the upper windows. I thank the Women and men involved in this project. The shul looks so beautiful now.
Always have a door from yeshiva to the Ezra’s nashim
Reb Jacobson has a point, EXPAND 770!
A complete expansion and up grade until Union Street, 30 years overdue.
The Rebbe made the הנחת אבן הפינה
So much delay
Why?
Now desperately needed.
Immediate need for emergency exit fire doors on Kingston Ave and Union Street sides.
Safety is number one.
What could be stopping all this?
Why?
Because all the funds go to the sheluchim
If 770 is sincere and ready to make real talmidai chachomim and if they somewhat advertise (like the sheluchim)
It would have been funded a long time ago
There is a safety door from kingston going out to union st.
When packed 770 needs at least three major easily accessible double doors exits.
That door would hardly make a difference in an emergency.
It always scared me that there was no emergency exit at the end of the shul. And the one near the bathroom they blocked and locked!? At least now there’s one.
First thing I saw was a another emergency exit.
the benches are holy and have kedusha
