Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, presiding over the war against Hamas in Gaza and conflict with the Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, was seen with a new book outlining a better way for Israel to get along with its neighbors.
Netanyahu was photographed with the book “Make Peace: A Strategic Guide for Achieving Lasting Peace In Israel,” which discusses the Rebbe’s vision for Israel’s security and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The 480-page book was seen on the coffee table in the Prime Minister’s Office during Netanyahu’s meeting on Monday with William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
Asked about the meeting, Daroff told COLlive.com: “While I have a long-standing policy of not discussing the specifics of my conversations with heads of governments, in our discussion of world events this afternoon, the Prime Minister and I discussed the 30th yartzeit of the Rebbe, and the Rebbe’s counsel for how Israel can “make peace” to ensure its national security.”
The book’s publisher, Sichos in English, wrote that “Make Peace” is “a comprehensive guide offering real-world solutions grounded in Jewish tradition and realpolitik. It provides a simple guide to understanding the complex issues facing Israel today, rooted in a profound history of Israel and Jewish thought.
“Whether you are a policymaker, a scholar, or someone deeply interested in Middle Eastern politics, US-Israel relations, and the future of Israel, this book provides essential insights and actionable strategies for creating a lasting peace in the most misunderstood country on earth.”
“Make Peace,” published by Yonah Press, an imprint of Sichos in English, is available on sie.org/makepeace and on Amazon.com.
This is the second time in recent months that Netanyahu has been seen with a book about the Rebbe’s teachings. He was pictured in May reading in the Knesset the Hebrew edition of “Toward a Meaningful Life: The Wisdom of the Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson,” by Rabbi Simon Jacobson.
Netanyahu is a known admirer of the Rebbe, often citing the Rebbe’s encouragement that he stand strong to protect the land and its people and not be influenced by haters both internally and externally.
