We’ve known for a long time that Israel Bardugo takes stunning photos. Now we have the official approval of Benjamin Netanyahu to prove it.
Israel’s Prime Minister chose an aerial photo by Bardugo as the winner of a national photography contest by the Government Press Office (GPO).
The photo will be used to adorn the government’s Happy New Year postcard which is sent to members of the foreign press stationed in Israel.
“The goal is to share the Israeli experience with the world,” said GPO Director Nitzan Chen. “The winning picture will be used as the GPO’s greeting card for the new civil year and will be distributed to all foreign journalists in Israel.”
Bardugo’s photo, which was one of the three finalists chosen by Facebook “likes,” shows scores of Jewish people filling the plaza of the Kotel in Jerusalem during a late night Slichos prayer ahead of the 5774 High Holidays.
Bardugo, who regularly works with COLlive.com, owns the Israel On Air aviation company which offers tours of the Holy land on helicopter and private jet.
At the ceremony at the Israel Convention Center, Netanyahu announced his pick and heard from Bardugo details about the photo and how it was taken.
