Jewish Radio host Nachum Segal will broadcast the recording of the address his father, Rabbi Zev Segal, gave at a Shloshim event held for the Rebbe in New Jersey, one month after Gimmel Tammuz.
The recording will air on Friday morning, 7:15 AM ET, on the Nachum Segal radio show JM in the AM.
In 1994 Rabbi Moshe Herson, Head Shliach of New Jersey, invited Rabbi Zev Segal, legendary Rabbi of Young Israel of Newark and past President of the RCA, to speak at the Shloshim observance of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in NJ on 3 Av, 5754.
Rabbi Segal spoke about his close connection with the Rebbe. In his book, “Rebbe,” Joseph Telushkin writes about “Rabbi Zev Segal, whom the Rebbe had asked to carry out a certain mission when he was in Eastern Europe.
“When he came back, he reported to the Rebbe that he was able to do it but it was much more difficult than he had expected. The Rebbe said to him, ‘Rabbi Segal, since when did you make a contract with the Almighty for an easy life?'”
“I air the interview every 3 Av because it is the best 25-minute biography of the Rebbe you will ever hear,” says Nachum Segal. “Every word is carefully chosen and every aspect of the Rebbe’s greatness touched upon. You don’t want to miss it,” he said.
