Mr. Nachum (Michel) Goldenberg, of Paris, France, passed away on Tuesday, 12 Adar, 5778.
He was 71 and passed away after bravely battling a long and painful illness.
He and his family lived in Montreal for many years.
Born and raised in Paris soon after the end of World War II, he grew up during the 60’s student revolution, and was brought close to Yiddishkeit soon thereafter with the help of Rabbi Pinchas Pachter.
For Purim of 1973, he traveled to New York to meet the Rebbe and had his first Yechidus.
In 1976 he married his wife, Michelle, and together raised a beautiful family. When in 1982 a terrorist attack at his father’s iconic restaurant claimed six lives, the family moved to Montreal, Canada, where he enjoyed being surrounded by older Chassidim, and learning from their ways.
In recent years, he and his wife moved back to Paris where he received medical treatment.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle, his children, Rabbi Yitzchak Goldenberg – Shliach in Lawrenceville, NJ, Rachel Levy – Coral Springs, FL, Shterna Rapoport – Monsey, NY, Chaim Mendel Goldenberg – Paris, France, Nechama Munitz – Los Angeles, CA, and Levana Duchman – Surfside, FL, and grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, Mordechai (Marc) Goldenberg.
The Levaya will, please G-d, take place in Eretz Yisroel on Har Hazeisim, Wednesday, Taanis Esther.
Shiva will be in Paris, at 15 Rue des Rosiers.
Memories and condolences can be sent to [email protected].
Baruch Dayan Ha’emet: Nachum Elazar ben Yosef A”H.

We first met Mr Goldenberg when he had an antique store on Sherbrooke St W in the 1980s. Over the years my husband and sons did different handy work for him in Montreal and Ste Agathe, my youngest son Issachar spent a lot of time talking to him after his work day in Ste Agathe.
My you be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
