The MyShliach Hebrew desk is taking another step in its mission to care for the Hebrew-speaking Yaldei Hashluchim by launching an exciting new program.
Every day, from Monday through Thursday, hundreds of Yaldei HaShluchim from around the world will meet on Zoom to experience a unique learning program prepared by the dedicated staff at the MyShliach Hebrew desk at Merkos Suite 302.
The Rebbe spoke many times about the importance of knowing everyday Halachos לידע את המעשה אשר יעשון.
On Yud Shvat 5715, the Rebbe also emphasized the importance of learning the Halachos of Birchas Hanehenin, Hefsek Batefilah, Tallis Katan, Muktze on Shabbos and so on.
Inspired by the Rebbe’s call, the MyShliach Hebrew team led by Rabbis Mendy Shif and Dobi Kuk created an innovative new program titled “Rav Babayit” or “In-House Rabbi.” The program’s goal is to have every child proficient in the practical Halachos that are commonplace in every Jewish Home.
“Throughout the daily program, the participants will learn these halachos using an innovative and engaging curriculum,” explains Rabbi Dudy Ashkenazi, Content developer for the project. “Every child should leave with a mastery of these Halachos, ready to apply them in every situation that arises and teach them to others.”
The program is divided into three sections: Chossid, Yirai Shamayim and Lamdan. In these segments, the children will learn in-depth Chassidus, common practical halachos, and Mesechtas Berachos.
This virtual program is essential for children of Shluchim who live in remote locations throughout the world and don’t have local friends to spend time with after school hours. The idea is to create a warm virtual environment for them to enjoy a fun afternoon with friends who speak their language and share their values.
“MyShliach is here to care for the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of the Yaldei Hashluchim, explains Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of Merkos 302, home of MyShliach. “The idea is to recreate the powerful experience of growing up in a frum community, an experience that most of us take for granted and many young Shluchim are lacking.”
The learning program was created to make the learning exciting and accessible to children on their level. Each Halachah is presented with its practical application in a child’s life.
The learning workbook covers topics such as washing your hands in the morning and checking tzitzis properly, as well as which amen is allowed to be answered in pesukei de’zimrah and birchos kerias shema.
“Yaldei HaShluchim are shluchim in their own right. The knowledge and inspiration the Yeshivas Erev program gives them the energy and tools for their Shlichus,” explains Rabbi Mendy Shif, Director of the Hebrew Yeshivas Erev Program.
The program is taught by students of the central yeshivah of 770, under the supervision and guidance of Rabbi Sholom Dovber Ashkenazi of Kfar Saba.
Yonah Stembler, a young Shliach from Warsaw, Poland, said: “Last year, I participated in the Yeshivas Erev program by MyShliach, and I really enjoyed it! We learned Mesechtas Yoma with our melamed Mende’le. We had raffles, activities and lots of fun. Boruch Hashem, we also merited to finish the Mesechtah and to celebrate the siyum. I urge every child to sign up for Yeshivas Erev this year! This year, I was the first to sign up for Yeshivas Erev, and I encourage everyone to join me!”
