Well, it used to be.
I admit. As much as I’d love to be one of those “media-free” moms, my phone somehow lands in the hand of my 5 year old son on a nightly basis. Family whatsapp videos, funny forwards, (and whatever else he clicks!) keep my son entertained and happy while I catch up on laundry, supper, and everything else it takes to run a household. Hey, don’t wrinkle your nose, I’m sure I’m not the only one!
While it was an effective solution, I always felt bad. “What are you filling your son’s mind with?”, my mother’s guilt constantly berated.
Until three weeks ago.
At my son’s curriculum night, a fellow mom mentioned how ecstatic her son was that he was featured in a Maor video. “What’s Maor?” I naively asked. “Your kids don’t watch it nightly?”, she responded. “You’ve been missing out!”
Indeed I was. That very night I signed up for Maor Kids and began receiving the most adorable, bite size, kid friendly videos of the Rebbe I’ve ever seen.
My phone now performs in 4D. The depth and richness in each video is astounding. Instead of being a tool for entertainment and killing time, my phone is turning my kids into stronger Chassidim!
My kids now beg me to watch… a video of the Rebbe! They can drift off to sleep with happy, positive images in their minds and strengthen their connection.
It’s kinda crazy – my 5 year old is quoting sichos! Thanks to the little Maor cartoons and story narrations, my kids completely understand what they hear and feel like the Rebbe is speaking directly to them.
The videos make the adult in me engage and focus on the Rebbe. As I cook dinner and help with HW, I tune in to the background noise and can learn an entire sicha!
Nowadays, my mother guilt kicks in when I neglect to show my kids the latest video!
But don’t take my word for it. Sign up and try it out for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
Oh, and please support this amazing organization with their upcoming Charidy campaign so that hundreds of kids can continue accessing this amazing tool!
They only have 48 hours and we need to help them continue.
Just click this Maor Day link, it’s that easy!

Facing reality for a moment, the phones are in our houses and in our hands. This organization is taking the opportunity to fill our phones and as a result our home with great toichen! I agree with the mother in this article, it really does give the, “screen” more depth! Maor Kids is the way to go!
Your kids should not play on phones and neither should you. Phones should be for calls and messages that are important and done at the right time. IE NOT while picking up kids from school , family time , date night etc
still agree with the mother…letting children on these phones is addictive; they won’t stop at just wanting this; what do you think children did before these phones were invented and mothers were busy ??? They learned how to play together or used their own imagination for creative play. The Rebbe was also shown on tv when sichos were said but Lubavitchers did not have tv – this is not the only thing they will want to see – children are on these phones too much and it is interfering with their education. Let the schools show the Maor videos and… Read more »
