From the COLlive Inbox:
To all the parents in Crown Heights, I am reaching out to you to bring awareness to something serious that happened to me.
I was shopping in the Atlantic Center Mall, and I was on my way to the checkout counter when a male came up to me and touched me inappropriately.
Mall security wouldn’t step in, so I took out my phone and started filming.
Then I called the cops, and followed him, so the police were able to find this man and arrest him.
They collected video footage. They have enough evidence to press charges.
I am writing this because I feel that this is a very important matter for you to sit down with your kids and explain to them what a predator is. You have to teach them that if they see something, say something, and if something happens to you you cannot be scared nor afraid to do something about it.
There’s no reason not to follow the predator and video and to make sure to call 911 and press charges and file a police report.
As the summer is coming, and a lot of kids will be in the park outside playing outside, it is very important that your kids know what to do in this situation.
Good for you for speaking up and not keeping this to yourself. I can only imagine what an ordeal it just have been. Good luck!
We are very proud of you! Stay strong!
Good for you
Wow! You’re so brave and I’m so glad you had the courage to get one of these terrible people off the street. Thank you.
Thank you very much for warning us!
Thank you for your courage and for warning others, this is such an important topic, and probably not every teen/kid or even adult would know what to do in this situation! It should be discussed more.
Kol hakavod! You acted very well.
Sorry this happened to you ;(
Thank you for sharing
It can be scary because we don’t always know if the person will
Attack you or take revenge for getting them in trouble
I’d be scared
This boy has nothing to worry about. We can’t live a life of fear. It just encourages more of the same. If it is urgent and important enough and it can be done, we do what we have to do.
That’s literally doing the opposite of what this article is posted for. You should never be scared to get someone in trouble.
These parent did a great job raising their son.
Such good advice.
May this end this galus
Enough
Be careful
Good for You but unfortunately nothing will happen to him
Ther are charges being pressed
It was on my subway route to and from work. There comes a time when you realise that a certain atmosphere is no longer suitable for you.
I’m not sure following such a person is a good idea, unless you are with someone else. Otherwise he may lead you into a trap.
Chaim that’s awful I’m so sorry that happened to you
everyone beware of the goyim
males even beware of goyim males of any age
don’t go places alone
don’t seclude yourself alone with even 1 goyim male
what a sick world
Kol Hakavod Ty for telling us that’s how you stop predators – by breaking the silence. Good News only for you from now on
Kol Hakavod for going after this predator. However, he could have also been a crazy person with a knife etc. Definitely call the police if this happens to you. But definitely do not chase after the person. Don’t be the Korbon for the next person. You could be attacked.
Easier for guys to follow the perp than girls, but great job. And I hope this never happened to you again, nor anyone from the community
Are women not acpable of walking and following from a distance? get real.
