As preparations went on in kitchens of frum Jewish neighborhoods for the final days of Pesach, their children were occupied outside on Tuesday.
10 trucks outfitted with speakers blaring Jewish music drove through the streets giving respite to children and adults living in isolation because of the current pandemic.
It was the initiative of businessmen Zalmy Cohen, Shloimy Greenwald and Beryl Junik who are raising awareness for the Miracle Torah campaign written for protection against illness.
Lively music brought joy to thousands of Jewish men, women and children, who stood outside their homes and sang and danced along to popular Jewish tunes.
The music trucks – 5 in Crown Heights, 2 in Boro Park, 1 in Flatbush, 1 in Williamsburg, 1 in the Five Towns – traveled through the streets, bringing the joy of the Pesach holiday to all.
Singers on the trucks included singers Eli Marcus, Baruch Sholom Blesofsky, Mendy J, and Kalmey Schwartz and children’s entertainers Uncle Moishy and Mitzvah Boulevard by Chaim Hershkowitz.
The response of people was “unimaginable,” Zalmy Cohen told COLlive.
People followed the routes of the truck via live video feed, and then waited outside their homes in great anticipation as they heard the approaching lively music. Young and old greeted the trucks as they sang and danced with great excitement.
“The feedback to the music was mind-blowing. People were so happy and grateful, many were crying tears of joy,” Cohen said.
“A special thank you to the MASK organization for arranging the 2 hour beautiful Uncle Moshe presentation and joining together in this beautiful simcha street parade,” said Cohen.
