Mrs. Devorah Scheiner, whose charitable projects provide food and clothing to needy Crown Heights families, is in desperate need of funds.
Scheiner, who distributes 150 tons of poultry and runs on a budget of $150,000 per year, told COLlive.com on Tuesday that “the situation is desperate.”
“I need to raise $40,000 this week to pay for the poultry and dairy orders,” she says. “If we don’t order it this week, families won’t have it for Yom Tov.
“I’m volunteering my time for the past 25 years and I can say the need is greater than ever,” she added. “People have no idea how bad the times are. We need to help put food on the table for many Crown Heights families.”
Scheiner is also raising money to subsidize the 300 pairs of shoes she is to distribute before the start of the new year.
Scheiner single-handedly raises money so she can distribute food, clothing and medical assistance to Crown Heights families in need before the Jewish holidays.

does amazing amazing work! I have seen her help so many people who are unfortunately in tough times, don’t think you will be spared, it can happen to anyone. Mrs Scheiner doesn’t ask a single question, she just tells you the time and place. Help her help others and in the zechus you should never know of hte need to be helped.
If people cannot donate on line it is very difficult to send a donation from long distance…..maybe Mrs. Sheiner can find a store owner who would allow people to donate online via credit card and he would give her the money? Something has to be worked out.
