By COLlive reporterRivka (Riva) Bisk, originally from Russia, and Nachlas Har Chabad Israel, who relocated in her later years to Toronto, Canada, passed away on Thursday, 26 Shvat 5779.
She was 85 and just a few months after celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary with her husband R’ Eliyahu Bisk.
She was the only child of HaChossid Rabbi Yisrael HaKohen Kahanson, the famed shochet and mashgiach of the yeshiva in Nevel.
She was known for her warm, loving and gracious personality. She was a preschool teacher (gannenet), a Mikvah lady, and very involved in the Nshei activities in Nachlas Har Chabad, often going above and beyond her responsibilities.
When she and her husband moved to Toronto to be close to their children, she instantly became a pillar of strength and inspiration to the women of Maon Noam Shul. She greeted everyone with a cheerful smile, uplifting the downtrodden and inspiring all those around her.
She was always satisfied with whatever situation she found herself in and never complained about her pain and difficulties. She was hard working and happily assisted her children and grandchildren in any way she could. She is sorely missed by her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Reb Eliyahu Bisk, children Rabbi Hirsch Rabiski, Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Bisk, Rabbi Dovid Bisk – Shluchim in Toronto, Canada; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
