Mrs. Nita (Necha) Weisz, a respected and long-time member of the Jewish community in Manchester, England, passed away on Friday, 28 Adar 5781.
She was 98.
Mrs. Weisz was a descendant of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, known as Reb Chaim Volozhiner, the foremost disciple of the Vilna Gaon, the founder of the Volozhin Yeshiva. Her father was Rabbi Yehuda Neumann who served as a rabbi in Notting Hill in West London.
During the Second World War, when the German Nazi forces were bombing London, Mrs. Weisz was sent out of the capital city for her safety. She stayed at a home of a non-Jewish family, yet strictly adhered to Torah and Mitzvos.

She was known for her love for the mitzvah of hachnosas orchim, not allowing a single day to pass without inviting or hosting a guest at her home for a home-cooked meal. In the last 30 years, she lived in Israel.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Sara Dominitz – Modiin, Israel; Rabbi Eliezer Simcha Weisz – Petach Tikva, Israel; Mrs. Judith Jano – Tel Aviv, Israel; R’ Dovid Aryeh Weisz – Manchester, UK; Mrs. Aviva Ronen – Rechovot, Israel; R’ Avrohom Weisz – London, UK; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
