Mrs. Naomi Marasow, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and longtime employee of Bais Rivkah, passed away Thursday, Chof Daled Iyar, 5785.
She was 81.
Naomi was a longstanding member of the Crown Heights community.
Originally from Detroit, Naomi married Reb Velvel Marasow OBM, son of R’ Dovid Leib and grandson of the famed chossid, Reb ‘Chonye’ Marasow. Together they moved to Crown Heights and built a beautiful, large family of chassidim and shluchim.
She was a true yiras shamayim, who instilled her values and warmth in the beautiful family and legacy she created. Naomi devotedly served the community through her work in Bais Rivkah for over 40 years. She was known for the way she sensitively and patiently handled each phone call and question that came through, and created connections with many, as she worked in the administrative office of Bais Rivkah.
She was a dedicated friend to many and had so much wisdom and warmth to share with anyone that met her. Naomi was so involved in the lives of each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had so much pride in their work as shluchim and in all they would do. Her house was always open and bustling with family and friends who’d come to benefit from her warmth and wisdom.
She is survived by her children, Chani Lazar (Montreal/Crown Heights), Yosef Y. Marasow (Seattle, Washington), Shmuel Marasow (Crown Heights), Elchonon Marasow (Paris, France), Shrage Marasow (Crown Heights), and Zalman Marasow (Crown Heights) and grandchildren and great-children Kah.
She will be greatly missed!
