Mrs. Leah (Luba) Pinson, wife of the 770 Gabbai Rabbi Yehoshua Pinson, passed away early this morning, 17 Elul, 5783.
She was 100.
She was born in Haditch, Russia to the Gansburg family.
She became a doctor and helped the Chabad community with her medical skills. Later when immigration opened up she left Samarkand and immigrated to Kfar Chabad, Israel, where she continued working in the hospital.
She moved to New York and was the second wife of Rabbi Yehoshua Pinson, the Gabbai of 770. She had an open house, made many Baalei Teshuva and arranged shidduchim in the Russian community.
She was active in helping the needy with clothing and other essentials.
The Levaya will take place today, passing 770 at 2:00 PM and continuing to Montefiore cemetery.
There is no shiva, but there will be davening at her home, for מנחה and מעריב at 7:15 pm.
