Mrs. Freida Zissel (Francine) Vogel a’h, a pillar of the London Jewish community who assisted her known late husband R’ Nosson Vogel in his charitable work for Chabad and the wider community, passed away Tuesday, 2 Adar II 5771.
Born in 1932, she was one of three children born to a Galician Chassidic family. She survived the war with her parents and brothers frequently running from town to town and escaping from the nazis y”sh in occupied France.
She married R’ Nosson in 1951 and was zoche to have many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – Shluchim, Chasidim, V’Anshei Ma’aseh involved in Chinuch and many aspects of Chessed.
Always by her husband’s side, she was there to make all who came from near and far comfortable, giving them the care and encouragement they needed. Whether it was hosting the weekly shiurim in their house, being involved in collecting funds for Hachnosas Kallah, or having visitors that would stay for a night, a week or a month, it was all done with her sincere warmth and gracious manner.
She is survived by her children: R’ Dovid Sholom Vogel, R’ Nechemia Vogel (Rochester, NY), Mrs. Hadassa Shur (Jerusalem), R’ Chuni Vogel (Wilmington, DE), R’ Chaim Vogel, R’ Nuchi Vogel, R’ Moshe Vogel and Eliane Vogel.
The levaya will take place Tuesday at 1:30 PM from her home to the Rainham cemetery in London.
