Baruch Dayan Hoemes!!!!
As a former Chicago resident, I am very saddened by the news. This lady was one of the nicest ladies I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering. She was warm and very kind! May the family be comforted among the other avaylim of Tzion and Yerushalyim. Hashem, no more, enough is enough, We DON’T WANT Moshiach Now, WE NEED Moshiach NOW!!!
We love you Faigy and all the Bassmans.
She nurtured everyone, everywhere.
Her smile, her food, her music and her open home will be remembered
What a giant loss. BDE
Recently I had the privilege of staying by the Bassman household and got to know Faygie on a personal level. She treated me like her own daughter. She was just full of life, love and so so motherly. She had a beautiful voice. She had such a passion for music, interpersonal connections, and really treasured every moment. Even though she was in pain, she was a fighter as a warrior. She was so strong. In the bit of time I spent with her I learned a lifetime of lessons. She will forever be in my heart. Faygie, you will be… Read more »
I met faigy many years ago in Cleveland Ohio. We flew to crown heights to learn about The Rebbe last minute through the grace & goodwill of Rabbi Mordechai Mendelson. Faige new Tammy Schoenberg let me borrow some essentials I needed for this last minute flight to New York. We later spent more time in crown heights. We both first stayed with a family name Light on President street with other girls in the famiily’s basement then I was moved to Empire Blvd. to stay with the Kahanovs. Faigy told me she was walking and the Rebbe passed by and… Read more »

Faygie was a role model of a loyal friend, a
Devoted wife ,mother & Bubby and an emesdike Yid. She was the paradigm of goodness, kindness, love and TRUTH. Her home was known for its warmth, openness & fabulous food! She is in the World of Truth now, as a gutte better for her beloved family & for all of Klal Yisroel. May her husband, children & einiklach be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion! Ad Mosai!
We love you and are with you ❤
Love, your friends
I knew Faigy from her “early” Bais Chana Minnesota days. We didn’t really keep up except when we met — but warmth, kindness, friendship were words that defined her even to someone who didn’t know her that well.
Boruch dayan emes. She was a special person and will be greatly missed. And may the family find nechama and Moshiach should come!
Hamakom yenachem eschem besoch shaar aveilei tzion veyerushalayim.
I knew Faigie A”H when I lived in Chicago. She is as one of the most emotionally mature people I’ve ever met. When she spoke to you, she totally connected to you. Totally authentic and nonjudgmental. You feel loved and accepted. When I think of what a Chabad woman is I think of Faigy. She was always reaching out and making you feel like you mattered. You could feel her love. The impact she made in the world will be felt forever. Sending wishes of sympathy and comfort to the Bassman family.
You had a mom with a beautiful heart. She was accepting of all and always had an upbeat and positive vibe. When you were near her there was just love without any judgement. She will be greatly missed. Hashem, we need Moshiach!
BDE
She ‘ll be missed. 😪
I know you in Morristown many years ago and never realized that like me you were from CLeveland. I live here in Israel and it is so rare that the oldmemories are sparked May your family be comforted with all those very special memories.
