Mrs. Devorah (Dawn) Nates of Johannesburg South Africa, passed away on Monday night, 17th of Tammuz.
She was 66 and had suffered from an illness for the past two years.
A member of the Oxford Shul led by Rabbi Yossi Chaikin, Mrs. Nates was heavily involved in women’s activities in South Africa. She worked for (and led) the offices of the Jewish Women’s Guild of South Africa.
Mrs. Nates was known as a most kind and caring person, always looking out for family, friends and what she could do to help others.
For the past 7 years she dedicated her life to taking care of her 92-year-old mother, who lived in her house.
She is survived by her children: Rebbetzin Aviva Fox – Pretoria, South Africa; Dr. Wayne Nates, Winnipeg, Canada; Mrs. Ariella Kohn – Crown Heights, NY and Mrs. Yael Tessler – Tzafria, Israel and many grandchildren KA”H.
She is also survived by her mother, a sister and 2 brothers.
