Mrs. Chaya Desha Lehrer, the eldest daughter of the famed Chossid R’ Avraham Paris, and matriarch of a large Chabad family, passed away on Friday, 6 Teves, 5782.
She was one month shy of her 104th birthday.
She was born on 15 Shvat, 5678, in Russia to her parents, R’ Avrohom and Rivkah Baila Paris. The family immigrated to Israel in 5686, where they settled in Petach Tikvah.
In 5698 she married R’ Efraim Tzvi Lehrer, who was not a Lubavitcher yet at the time. The Frierdiker Rebbe gave a bracha for the engagement and instructed her father to encourage the match.
Her husband quickly became a staunch Chosid, devoted in heart and soul to the Rebbe.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who left behind generations of chassidim who follow in her ways.
She is survived by her children, R’ Yaakov Lehrer, R’ Dov Lehrer, R’ Menachem Lehrer – Kfar Chabad and Mrs. Matya Hartman – Nachlas Har Chabad, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mrs. Pesia Wolff, Mrs. Rochel Levin – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Tova Gita Glitsenstein.
She was predeceased by her husband in 5769, and her son, R’ Meir Lehrer obm.
The levaya will take place in Bnei Brak and burial on Har Hazeisim.
