Chanchy Brook, a teacher in Crown Heights for many years and a dedicated mother, passed away Tuesday morning, Tevet 7, 5771.
She celebrated her 54th birthday on Kislev 2.
Chana Leah was born to her parents R’ Shimon and Esther Goldman, respected Crown Heights residents, and spent her life learning and later teaching in the Associated Beth Rivkah Schools.
“She was full of Chessed, a kind and good hearted person who was the best friend anyone can ask for,” one of her friends told COLlive.com.
While fighting a deadly illness for many years, Chanchie and her husband Levi Itche Brook held strong and married off some of their children.
“She bore the pain with dignity and privacy,” another friend said. “She was a true Aishes Chayil – a good daughter, a good wife and a good mother.”
Friends described her as a caring teacher for many Jewish girls who also worked as a tutor after school hours.
She is survived by her parents, husband and children R’ Yochanan Brook – Bal Harbour, FL; Rabbi Chaim Shaul Bruk – Shliach in Bozman, Montana; R’ Yanky Bruk, Rochel Banon and Mushky Brook – Crown Heights.
She is also survived by her parents and siblings Rabbi Yossy Goldman – Shliach in Johannesburg, South Africa; Kraindy Klein and Shmuly Goldman of Crown Heights.

The funeral will be held today, Tuesday, at Shomrei Hadas Chapel at 1:30 PM and will pass by 770 Eastern Parkway at 2:00 PM.
