Mrs. Chana Simpson, a beloved mother and grandmother and resident of Boro Park, Brooklyn passed away on Tuesday, 29 Nissan, 5784.
She was 88.
Chana, along with her husband, R’ Leible Simpson obm, was the co-founder of the well known Simpson Jewelers in Boro Park, Brooklyn, in the 1950’s.
She was a big Baal Tzedaka who donated to many causes. She helped establish the Bnos Menachem School in Crown Heights and was a major supporter of the school to this day.
Mrs. Simpson cared deeply about the school and often inquired about the well being of individual staff members and students, taking a personal interest and offering whatever help was needed.
In the early years of overnight Camp Emunah she was a beloved head counselor, and was known for always having time to listen and give Chizuk to others. She was known for her Yiras Shomayim and her meticulous care to keeping Halacha.
She leaves behind a family of children and grandchildren who follow in her ways, many of who are on Shlichus around the US.
She is survived by her son, R’ Yossi Simpson of Crown Heights, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Levaya will take place today, passing by 770 at 4 PM.
Shiva will take place at 4922 13th ave in Borough park:
9:30-2:00 And 4:00-10:00 we request no one to come between 2:00 and 4:00 and after 10:00.
Shachris 9:30. Mincha 7:45. Maariv 8:35.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes – Chana Basha bas Moshe Uri.
Wishing the Simpson family much comfort during this difficult time. As somebody who is not a member of the Lubavitch community, I can honestly say that she and her husband, a’h, ran the store as shluchim more than balabtim, which their children and grandchildren (and all of the members of the Simpson Jewelers family) continue. The founders may be gone, but their legacy of honesty, and principle lives on.- Shmelke Diamond, a family friend and devoted (and difficult) customer

Mrs. Simpson was truly a eishes chayil, and special person. I frequented her house as a young teenager and saw this in action. I’ll never forget her calling me, chaimke, w such love and warmth.
Hamokom…may her Neshama have Aliya, amen together with Mashiach’s arrival now!
A sweet, honest special G-d fearing woman. I knew her well, not just from the store, but we davened in the same shul. In Rabbi Simpson’s shul, of course, now לאורך ימים ושנים טובות Rabbi Rosenfeld’s shul. I remember her warm smile and her reassuring & comforting vibe that warmed OUR heart. It’s about time that Hashem stops taking Neshomos “upstairs” and instead start, continue and complete bringing them ALL back down HERE! Moshiach and Techiyas Hameisim NOW. (the Rebbe mentioned that being that this golus is sooo long, we won’t have to wait any while between Moshiach’s arrival and… Read more »
