Mrs. Shaina Basha Minsky, a longtime resident of Kfar Chabad, Israel, and matriarch of a large Lubavitch family, passed away on Sunday, 17 Cheshvan, 5778.
She was 79.
Mrs. Minsky was the wife of Rabbi Yaakov Minsky, renowned educator who founded many schools throughout Israel.
A beloved teacher for many years, Mrs. Minsky later became the principal of the school which educated generations of children who emigrated to Israel from Chernobyl in Russia.
She devoted her life to many Mivtzoim campaigns, and raising her large family.
When she and her husband asked the Rebbe about going on Shlichus after opening a school, the Rebbe replied, “you are already on Shlichus for some years.”
She received a special Bracha from the Rebbe, to have a “special husband and pleasant children.”
She leaves behind a husband and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many who serve as Shluchim around the globe.
She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Yaakov Minsky and children Rabbi Yosef Minsky – Cochav Yaakov, Israel, Rabbi Shmulik Minsky – Jerusalem, Rabbi Dubi Minsky – Flatbush, NY, Rabbi Shneur Minsky – Crown Heights, Rabbi Menachem Minsky – Crown Heights, Rabbi Shimon Minsky – Crown Heights, Mrs. Chava Raksin – Crown Heights, Mrs. Chana Bloy – Yad Binyamin, Israel, Mrs. Sarah Brikman – Rechovot, Israel, Mrs. Malka Mann – Jerusalem, Mrs. Devorah Frankel – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Tziporah Gloiberman – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Rochi Yeret – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Rivkah Fishbein – Long Island, NY, Mrs. Yonati Friedman – Miami, FL, and Mrs. Dina Erentrau – Ukraine.
The levaya will take place in Israel, time to be announced.
