Mr. Victor (Avigdor Shmuel) Katz, a resident of Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, 4 Elul, 5780.
He was 81.
He was the nephew of the famous Yankel Katz OBM from Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Katz, and children, Rivka Spira, Sara Leah Guttman, Chani Chase, Brocha Goldman, Adina Dimarsky, Nechama Nadell, Rabbi Moshe Katz, Rena Mauer, Chaya Litwack and Ushey Katz.
He is also survived by his siblings, Phyllis Bodenstein and Fishel Katz.
He was predeceased by his sister Miriam Adolf and brother Rabbi Binyomin Katz (New Haven).
The levaya will be graveside Tuesday, August 25 at 1 PM at Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, Forest Park, IL 60130 Roosevelt Road at Waldheim – Gate 76. (Silverman & Weiss)

On Shabbos mornings, he often walked from Peterson Park to West Rogers Park, to daven in an Anash minyan. He always had a stream of divrei Torah, vertelach, etc., which he would deliver in an excited flow.
