I have started going through the comments on line and I want everyone of you to know that it was a tremendous comfort to me to see how loved my father was. I know that we loved him but that others loved him so much is very special. I would come to visit and yes he would be so proud of me, my husband and his grandchildren. Thank you for noticing this. We should share simchos together
To #5 – he was Mrs. Gelfand’s uncle not father. They were very close the two families – the gelfands and the weissmans. Everyone wrote such nice things – thank you. We all enjoyed coming to crown hights to see our grandparents and we appreciate how the people in the shul treated our grandparents with such respect and giving them the honour they deserved. They really were a very special couple who took care of each other – a real example of true shalom bayis. And the care they showed for everyone – my grandfather would help anyone who needed… Read more »

Khal Chasidim
to # 2 , its khal chassidim that he davened in, im truly sad, he was always standing at his shtender that he built himself, i have such fond memories as a little girl admiring him and Lazer the shamash :-)) yes they knew the value and respect a shul deserved!!!
just four years ago i saw him manicuring his lawn on crown street and his wife bending over the porch, looking over as he worked.
looking at him would remind you that crown heights has a past of many diffrent jews and diffrent shuls.
i am sad :-(((
I believe he is Mrs. Gelfand’s father not uncle
Sorry to hear. . . very.
I ‘davened’ in K’hal Chassidim for about 28 years and knew Mr. Weissman.
I knew him as a thoughtful, considerate person and friendly person.
He always had a smile on his face, took learning seriously, and was very helpful in many ways. He took great pride in his ‘shul.’
He will be greatly missed.
Very sad …HaShem wipe away death.
I davened for many years at K’hal Chasidim. I have the fondest memories of him. Mr Weissman was a true gentleman and a scholar. He had the most brilliant questions on the parsha, and as a kid he used to humor me with the most brilliant jokes. He knew what kdushas beis haknesses meant . He would make sure that everything in the shul was functioning properly. He repaired the Atzei Chayim, the Sifrei Torah and the benches. He did it out of true love. He loved to show off his children and einiklach when they would come to visit.… Read more »
Rabbi Weissman is Mrs. Gelfands uncle. He was a very fine man and he and his wife made a very loving couple. He davened in Reyim Ahuvim. I remember how he would always wait for his wife after Shabbos Davening in shul. Even in his elderly years he came to shul without fail. I always admired how they would take care of each other!
he will be greatly missed he was a very inspirational man in my shul he used to build the shul sukkah for many years
