This Motzei Shabbos, at 9:00 PM, there will be a grand viewing at the Beis Medrash in Crown Heights of the recently released Farbrengen of the Rebbe, Purim 1973.
The Purim Farbrengens were always the most exciting and joyous Farbrengens of the year, but in this on in 5733 the joy and radiance displayed by the Rebbe were something of extraordinary.
This is quite evident to all who will participate in one of the public viewings of the Farbrengen that is taking place this year in over 160 locations worldwide.
The Farbrengen video begins with an exciting nigun which seems to go on and on, enveloping the viewer in a joy that is palpable, one can only imagine what it must have been like to be there in person.
To quote Rabbi JJ Hecht’s ebullient description of the atmosphere that night, “‘Ashrei ayin ro’aso kol ey’leh’; (fortunate is the eye which beholds this sight!). Perhaps the Al-mighty will grant you, as well, the privilege of experiencing a Farbrengen in person, when you’ll have the opportunity to see what being here accomplishes… The scene will not leave our memory for years to come; you simply will not be able to forget it!”
Among the sichos in this Farbrengen, the Rebbe speaks of Mesiras Nefesh of the Friediker Rebbe in the USSR, and how we each must take advantage of it in today’s freedom. In another, the Rebbe speaks how one must never compromise, and one must reach their fullest potential. These are life lessons that one must bear in mind as we go plod our way through this mundane existence called earth, bearing the torch of Torah and Chassidus.
At the Farbrengen, many noted personalities and journalists, including renowned author Chaim Potok were present. The Rebbe took a few moments to address some words directly for him in a sicha.
Viewing for Anash in Crown Heights will be on Motzoei Shabbos, 9 PM, at The Beis Medrash – 580 Crown Street (ground level). Men and boys of all ages are cordially invited. Refreshments will be served
