As an unbelievably successful first session of Bais Rivkah Pioneers came to an end, campers and their mothers received striking invitations to an elegant Mother-Daughter Challah Bake.
Mothers and daughters entered the beautifully decorated room depicting the theme of כל ישראל קומה אחת שלימה- each of us is different and is needed precisely because of the strengths we bring. Every table was set with precision and detail, including pre-measured ingredients and printed instructions showing various braiding techniques.
The event was opened by pioneer counselor Rivka Chein, who served as emcee for the evening. Mrs. Sara Blau engaged the crowd as she addressed the theme, emphasizing that everyone’s diverse strengths are needed. One person can sing beautifully, another can organize. Instead of spending energy wishing for another’s abilities, we should focus on being grateful for the gifts Hashem has given us and using them for good.
Mothers and daughters mixed and kneaded the dough, and while it was rising they learned together and played a fun game. The girls presented a choir to the song “Vzakeini” and the theme song.
Mrs. Miriam Schmukler and her daughter Bassi Schmukler took challah and led davening for those who need yeshuos. The feeling in the room at that moment was so powerful! The evening was co-sponsored for a Refuah Shleima for Peretz Ben Chana.
At the end of the uplifting event, everyone took home their own challah. Participants consistently commented on the high quality of the evening, the enjoyable moments of togetherness, and the inspirational program.
The evening was organized by pioneer head counselor Devorah Leah Spalter. A big thank you goes to Sarah Kupfer, Mazal Nimni, Shterny Krausz, Pioneers Director Mrs. CM Spiero, counselors Rivka Goldberg, Rivka Chein, Miriam Malka, and Daiu Duek.
This evening marked the end of an incredibly successful season for the Bais Rivkah Pioneers program. The first four weeks of the program had participants raving:
“I just want to thank you again for accepting my daughter into camp. She’s enjoying it more and more each day and seems to be starting to spread her wings now. I’ll be signing her up for the rest of the summer. Kol Tuv.”
Bais Rivkah Pioneers is committed to help every girl in the city have a fantastic summer. As such, they will still accept registrations for the second month.
