It has already become a tradition: for Shabbos Zachor, the Shabbos in which the Davening was held for the first time in the main “Marina Roscha” Shul 18 years ago, the gabbai of the Shul holds a special salute for the supporters and friends of the synagogue.
Thousands of Jews in Moscow, who find comfort and encouragement in the Shul, participate in the many prayer services, Torah and Chassidus classes, and enjoy a great deal of activity throughout the year.
The historic “Marina Roscha” synagogue was built about 100 years ago, and 18 years ago it was moved to the large and impressive building that was rebuilt by the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar.
From then on, the number of congregants has continued to grow, both for studying and praying, and in various projects for the benefit of the diverse audience, through the organization and initiative of the Gabbaiim.
Last Motzei Shabbos, a special sailing trip was held on the Moscow River, together with a beautiful Melava Malka.
The event was opened by the community director Rabbi Mordechai Weisberg, and the chief rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar.
This was followed by an award ceremony for supporters, together with the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Russia, Alexander Boroda.
Beautiful and uplifting music was provided by singers David Taub and Dovid Feldman, who led the crowd in joyous singing and dancing.
