This past Sunday in Morristown, NJ, the community, yeshivas, and shluchim of Morristown and neighbouring cities came together for the completion of the 43rd cycle of Rambam, marking 40 years to the Takonah Limud HaRambam.
The event was in L’iluy Nishmas Rabbi Zalman Wilschanski A”H who served as MC and organizer of the Siyum Harambam in Morristown for many years.
The event was held in the Rabbinical College of America, joined by over 250 people – Bochurim, Shluchim, and Anash of Morristown.
Tzemach Shemtov was honored with being the MC of the event, with Mendy Sassonkin giving over the Dvar Malchus.
The Siyum was made by Rabbi Yaakov Wagner and the Haschala by Rabbi Sholom Spalter.
Rabbi Chaim Schapiro spoke about his memories of when the takanah started and also said a few words about Rabbi Wilschanski. The event was then followed by a farbrengen with Rabbi Chaim Shapiro.
Thanks is given to the organizers of the event, Sholom Deren and Mendel Susskind, as well as Moshe Kaplan and Mendel Cadaner, for working on the beautiful memento Teshurah for the event. And to Beni Rosenbaum for the lively music.
In addition, thanks is given to Rabbi Chaim Schapiro, Menahel of Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim, Morristown, for co-heading the event.
