The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for New York City ahead of snow that is expected to arrive in the area early Thursday morning.
Snow is slated to start falling on the five boroughs early Thursday morning before changing over to sleet and rain by Thursday night, according to AccuWeather. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for New York City from 6 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 to 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19.
The city and its coastal suburbs could see anywhere from three to six inches of snow. New Jersey and the Hudson Valley, meanwhile, could get between six and 12 inches of snow.
A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect from Thursday morning through late Thursday night for the entire area.
