It’s great to see that B”H an amazing organization Igud Hamelamdim together with Chasdei Lev and askanim from Crown Heights decided to show appreciation to the Rebbies out this year with financial help. This should continue for many years to come.
However, I have one small issue with this.
How come the Morahs (female teachers) are never included in these activeties? The Morahs are never given a bonus or help before YomimTovim.
Now, there are those that say that the male teachers have the responsibility of supporting their family, but the fact is that it takes both spouses to support a family these days.
In addition, it is the female teachers who so expertly juggle their teaching jobs and their home responsibilities. These women, after a long day at work, come home needing the same energy they left with to work, to now be mechanach their kids.
But back to the more important argument, why aren’t female teachers included?
Women are teaching because it’s their Parnassah too. Because they love their job and the students. Let’s show our Morahs that they too are “worth” it. That they too deserve the help and bonus just like their male counterparts.
Even if their husbands are making a living, the fact that they are working shows (for the most part) that they need the parnassah.
