Among the many initiatives taken on by Lubavitchers worldwide in honor of the Rebbe‘s 111th birthday on Yud Aleph Nissan last Friday, was an original project in Canada.
Chassidim and bochurim in Montreal joined together to learn the entire Likkutei Sichos, the anthology of essays by the Lubavitcher Rebbe relating to the weekly portion of the Torah and holidays.
Each participant, which included men of all ages, took upon himself to study a portion from the 39 volumes, each choosing a portion they knew was possible for them to complete in time.
The completion of the learning took place Thursday, first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach, during the Kinus Torah gathering of study and discussion.
Speaking at the event was Rabbi Yosef Minkowitz, Principal of Beth Rivkah Academy girls school in Montreal who was a member of the editorial board of Vaad L’hfotzas Sichos which published the talks.
Perfect Choice!
this event was a siyum held for the completion of likutei sichos and it took place on the first day of chol hamoed, and yes many women are busy at home, but many women would love to come hear such a presentation, if there would be a mechitza put up,
Because the women are home making PESACH!!!!
Yasher Koach Rabbi Minkowitz. I never knew all those details about the development of Likutei Sichos, especially about how much time the Rebbe invested in Likutei Sichos and the phenomenal statements that the Rebbe himself said about Likutei Sichos.
After hearing this, and that the Rebbe called it “rov tov”, I believe everyone will surely set aside time every week to learn Likutei Sichos.
the Rebbe and the first 9 bochrim of Mtl are surely proud
u hear him al year-round in Bais Rivkah…
Dus heist a yud aleph Nissan!!!!!!!!
