Students of the Mechina division of Cheder Chabad in Monsey, New York, went on Mivtzoim over the Wednesday and Thursday of Chanukah, bringing the holiday to senior living homes and bustling shopping malls.
The young bochurim were armed with donuts and Menorah kits, and extended their hands to assist individuals in putting on tefillin. Their endeavors weren’t just about distributing tokens of festivity; it was about igniting the spark of Chanukah within each heart they encountered.
Principal Rabbi Levka Kaplan commented, “The Mechina Division utilized the days of Chanukah to become the lamplighters we always strive to be.” Their actions spoke volumes as they shared the essence of the holiday, bringing light and spirituality to every encounter.
From the energy of the shopping malls to the serene mood of senior homes, the bochurim left an indelible mark.
One significant addition to the Mechina Division staff, Rabbi Shya Itkin, has played a pivotal role in the Mivtzoim. Under his guidance, the bochurim have embraced their roles as dedicated chassidim of the Rebbe.
Reflecting on the success of this Chanukah initiative, Rabbi Kaplan shared his pride, stating, “This Chanukah truly showcased the fruits of the ongoing efforts. We wish them continued success, and undoubtedly, they are making the Rebbe proud.”
