Cheder Chabad of Monsey held the first segment of a new program for 7th and 8th-grade girls on Sunday, geared to helping them navigate the pivotal early teenage years.
In the new Foundations program, every few Sundays, the girls are invited to a round-table lunch, hosted by an inspirational speaker.
During lunch, in a comfortable, relaxed setting, the girls are encouraged to ask questions anonymously and discuss issues such as “Who am I? What do I believe in? Why do I do all the things I do?”
At the first event, the girls arrived excited and were treated to a delicious lunch.
They were inspired by a presentation by renowned educator Mrs. Dena Gorkin, founder of Bnos Chomesh High School in Crown Heights.
Mrs. Gorkin spoke about the “foundation of all foundations,” the existence and oneness of Hashem in everything.
Amongst the issues discussed was the question of ‘Why do bad things happen to good people’ and other important questions in Emunah were addressed.
The girls left inspired and we are all looking forward to the next segment which will take place in the next few weeks.
Sponsorship opportunities for these events are available. If you are interested in sponsoring a segment please contact Mrs. Breuer at [email protected].

My daughter had a great time at the event and felt very special being treated as adults. She came home very inspired and we are happy to be part of the cheder Chabad family.
